Ranchi news: Original land maps missing from office, available in the market

Ranchi news: Land maps of Jharkhand are no longer secure. Land mafia in the state has its eye on the maps of precious land in the state. According to reports, land mafia have entered into a deal with some officials to grab land. Perhaps that’s the reason why all maps that are available online, were copied in pen drives and sold at a heftry price.

And now there are reports that original land maps have started disappearing in Jharkhand. Sources said that original copies of several maps have disappeared from the settlement office which is considered very safe. These maps are available in the market at a price.

Map of Godatoli in Khunti 

One such map is of Godatoli of Khunti  under police station number 46. The year mentioned is 1902-03 AD on the original copy. The tally sheet number-1 is mentioned.

This sheet has a map of the entire area. In this, the condition of the land has been shown according to every account and plot. Copies of these maps are given to any person for a fixed fee if needed. But sources said that the original copies are available in the market for Rs 2000-5000. This is happening with the connivance of some government officials.

If the original copies are destroyed, there is now to ascertain the real condition of the land in Jharkhand.

The maps were brought from Gardnibagh in Patna to Ranchi under tight security. For this, along with four DSPs, executive magistrates were deployed. Maps were loaded in trucks and brought to the Ranchi settlement office under tight security.

Contract workers not removed

All arrangements were made to ensure that the maps do not get damaged in any way. A separate map room was prepared in the Ranchi office where unauthorized entry is prohibited. All steps have been taken to ensure that termites do not damage the papers.

Sources said contract workers are running riot here. Barring the in-charge of the branch and an officer of the level of Assistant Settlement Officer, all others are contract workers. Instructions were given to remove these contract workers but they were not removed.
