Ranchi News : Christian believers in the capital city of Ranchi are advised to anticipate traffic disruptions on November 26, starting at 1 pm, due to a grand procession of Christ the King (Holy Sacrament). Spokesperson Ajay Joseph Toppo, representing the parish priest of Saint Mary’s Cathedral, shared details of the event.
The procession, marked by prayers, musical instruments, and religious music, will commence from St. Mary’s Basilica. It will traverse Dr. Kamil Bulke Marg, passing near XISS. The route includes Sarjana Chowk, Albert Ekka Chowk, Plaza Chowk, Lalpur Chowk, and Fatima Nagar Chowk. The procession will then retrace its path through Dr. Father Kamil Bulke Path, entering Loyola Ground for a prayer meeting lasting about an hour.
Affected Roads:
Main Road, Hazaribagh Road, Purulia Road, and Link Road will experience disruptions for approximately two to three hours.
Volunteers from the Catholic Gram Sabha, Women, and Youth Association will collaborate with transport police and administration to ensure smooth traffic management.
Traffic Arrangements (12:30 to 5:30 pm):
- Temporary restrictions will be enforced on vehicle movement from Saint Mary’s Church in Purulia Road to Loyola Hostel via Sarjana Chowk, Albert Ekka Chowk, Old Hazaribagh Road, Lalpur Chowk, and Dangratoli Chowk.
- Vehicles heading from Albert Ekka Chowk to Lalpur Chowk via Old Hazaribagh Road can reach their destination by diverting through Jail Chowk, Nucleus Mall Chowk, and Lalpur Chowk.
Christian believers and residents are urged to plan their routes accordingly, considering potential delays and road closures during the specified time frame. The procession is a significant religious event, and the cooperation of the community is appreciated to ensure a peaceful and orderly observance.
