Noida News: There is constant danger to the lives of residents of the hundreds of group housing societies in Noida and Greater Noida West. Since there are issues with fire safety and malfunctioning lifts that affect the general public here. In this case, AOA performed a fire safety and lift audit at White Orchid Society, which is situated in Sector-16C.

Defective Equipment Discovery

Many of the installed equipment in the premises were found to be defective or faulty during the fire department audit. The lift was also discovered to be in poor condition during this time. The builder management has received a notice from the fire department directing them to make improvements within a month.

Committee Formation Post AOA Elections

Aishwarya Prakash Pandey, the society’s AOA secretary, reported that a committee was established following the most recent AOA elections on campus and that it has been officially registered with the Deputy Registrar’s office. Before accepting the handover, he claimed that the builder management had notified the Greater Noida Authority of the AOA’s formation.

Handover Requests to Greater Noida Authority

According to AOA, multiple letters have been sent to the Greater Noida Authority requesting handover; however, the authority is not receiving the handover promptly. There are roughly two thousand members of the society. In the city, there are no protocols in place for handling fire emergencies in group housing societies and high-rise buildings. These buildings have outdated or damaged fire safety equipment that hasn’t been updated in a long time.

Equipment Outdatedness Concern

The societies’ equipment was not kept up to date. It can be challenging to determine the potential extent of an accident in the event of a fire in a high-rise building. In this case, the fire department is putting together a list of societies and notifying the builder.
