Senior Congress leader and former Deputy Chief Minister of the state Sachin Pilot has now come in the mood for an all-out fight against Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot. Pilot has accused Ashok Gehlot, the head of his own party’s government, of breaking his promise. While talking to the media in Jaipur, Pilot said that four and a half years ago when we were in opposition and there was Vasundhara Raje’s government. Then all of us had leveled corruption charges of Rs 45,000 crore against the then BJP government. All the Congress leaders including Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot had promised in public that when we come to power, we will get these scams investigated.
Sachin will sit on hunger strike on April 11
Pilot expressed grief over the fact that it has been four and a quarter years since we came into the government. Despite this, the Congress government did not fulfill the promise made to the public. Pilot also wrote letters to Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot twice to remind him of his promises, but he did not get any response to his letters.
Sachin Pilot will now sit on a fast against his own government, demanding an inquiry into the corruption cases that took place during the tenure of predecessor Vasundhara Raje. They will sit on a day’s fast on April 11 at the Martyr’s Memorial in Jaipur.
Ashok Gehlot has met Vasundhara Raje
While talking to the media at his official residence in Jaipur, Sachin Pilot said that earlier he had gone among the public and raised the demand for an inquiry into the corruption of the previous BJP government.
Now after coming to power, we will not get those cases investigated, then how will the public trust us.
Elections are going to come again after six-seven months. With what face will we Congress leaders go in front of the public.
