Satyendra Jain: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal expressed his relief and support for former Delhi Health Minister Satyendra Jain, who has been granted bail after spending more than two years in jail. In a tweet, Kejriwal questioned the reasons behind Jain’s imprisonment, emphasizing that multiple raids conducted at Jain’s residence had found no evidence of corruption.
Kejriwal Alleges Political Motive Behind Arrest
Kejriwal suggested that Jain’s only “crime” was his contribution to creating Mohalla Clinics and providing free healthcare for Delhi residents. He further alleged that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had Jain imprisoned to stop the operation of these clinics and prevent free medical treatment for the poor. Despite these obstacles, Kejriwal stated that divine justice prevailed, and Jain has now been released.
Jain’s Contribution to Delhi’s Healthcare System
Satyendra Jain was instrumental in setting up the Mohalla Clinics, a revolutionary initiative that provided accessible and free healthcare services to millions of Delhi residents. His efforts to make healthcare affordable had gained widespread recognition, and Kejriwal’s government has maintained that Jain’s imprisonment was politically motivated to undermine these achievements.
“Welcome back Satyendra!” Kejriwal concluded in his tweet, signaling Jain’s return to public life.
