An 8-year-old girl was brutally gang-raped and killed by her 12- and 13-year-old school seniors in a heartbreaking tragedy that shocked Andhra Pradesh. The state has been shaken by the revelation, and Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan has responded. The terrible incident happened in the Nandyal district’s Muchumarri village. When the young girl did not come home from playing at the park on sunday, her father, who was worried, triggered the alarm.

Pawan Kalyan Speaks Out

While speaking to reporters about the heartbreaking incident, Pawan Kalyan stated, “It was a deep shock for me, reading about it. Even the perpetrators are minor. That is quite disturbing for me. It is not about physical education, young minds are getting corrupted, getting spoiled for multiple reasons…It will be dealt with severe punishment at the school level, I think that culture has to be conveyed to them.”

A Disturbing Discovery

Nandikotkur police used sniffer dog to find the culprits. Many were shocked to learn that the accused were two boys, aged 12 and 13, who attended the same school as the victim. They confessed about doing the unimaginable—raping, killing and heartlessly dumping their classmate’s body into an irrigation canal.

The Search Continues

Police are having a difficult time finding the victim’s body since the swollen canal waters may have carried it away as the monsoon rains lash the area. In order to provide solace to the grieving family, search efforts are being intensified despite the difficulties.
