Sukma Naxal Attack: One personnel from the Commando Battalion for Resolute Action (CoBRA) and a truck driver lost their lives on Sunday in an alleged Improvised Explosive Device (IED) blast carried out by Naxalites in Sukma district of Chhattisgarh. The incident occurred when their vehicle was targeted while en route from Silger to Tekalgudem village.

The tragic incident took place around 3 pm near Timmapuram village, positioned between Silger and Tekalgudem camps, located over 400 km away from Raipur, as reported by news agency PTI.
The personnel belonged to the CoBRA’s 201 battalion of the CRPF. They were part of a routine patrol known as the Road Opening Party, which was navigating the route on a truck and motorcycles at the time of the attack. The IED blast targeted the truck, resulting in the fatalities.
Security forces have intensified efforts in the area, which has been a hotspot for Naxalite activities, aiming to maintain order and safety amid ongoing tensions. The incident underscores the persistent challenges faced by security personnel operating in regions affected by Left Wing Extremism (LWE) in Chhattisgarh.
