Tender Scam: Hemant Soren Aide Pankaj Mishra Moves Court Against ED Officer

Tender Scam: The representative of Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren, Pankaj Mishra, filed a complaint petition against Assistant Director of Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Saturday, saying that the latter hid factsin the Barharwa tender case, according to news agency ANI.

Mishra alleged in the petition that the ED officer attempted to hid facts related to the Barharwa tender issue by filing a prosecution complaint with the PMLA court.

It should be noted that Mishra received a clean chit from the Jharkhand Police in their probe into a threat that was reportedly made in the Barharwa toll plaza bidding issue.

“After investigating facts and witnesses, accused Pankaj Mishra and MLA-cum-minister Alamgir Alam have been found to be innocent. Charge sheet has been filed against eight other accused,” DIG (Santhal Pargana range) Sudarshan Prasad Mandal said.

Mishra is under judicial custody:

It should be noted that Mishra is now under judicial custody by the court due to his alleged role in an illegal mining case worth Rs 1,000 crore. The ED in this case also questioned CM Soren.

According to sources, a FIR was filed as a result of a complaint filed by one Sambhu Nandan Kumar, who claimed that Pankaj Mishra threatened him on June 22, 2020, for taking part in the Barharwa toll plaza auction.

A mob allegedly attacked Kumar at Mishra’s behest after Kumar declined to participate in the bidding process as Mishra had instructed him over the phone to do.

According to the Enforcement Directorate, the primary motive was to seize control of all six toll booths on the route connecting the mining sites that are managed by the Barharwa Nagar Panchayat.
