Amit Shah: The conflict in the Rajasthan Congress between Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot and his erstwhile deputy Sachin Pilot has drawn criticism from Union Home Minister Amit Shah.
Comment appeared to be a jab at Sachin Pilot’s much-discussed goal
The home minister said to Sachin Pilot on Saturday in Rajashthan’s Bharatpur that ‘No matter what he did, Sachin Pilot’s number won’t come since Ashok Gehlot’s contribution was more focused on boosting Congress’s coffers.’ The comment appeared to be a jab at Sachin Pilot’s much-discussed goal of becoming chief minister of Rajasthan. The home minister addressed booth-level party workers and stated, “Pilot ji, whatever you do, your number won’t come. Perhaps your contribution is bigger on the ground than Gehlot ji, but Gehlot ji’s contribution is more in the Congress’s treasure.”
Amit Shah criticised Gehlot
Amit Shah was making reference to Sachin Pilot’s recent one-day fast against his own government in an effort to demand action against suspected corruption under the state’s previous BJP administration. Amit Shah criticised Gehlot, claiming that the chief minister had ruined the state of Rajasthan and turned its government into a haven for corruption. Additionally, the BJP representative said that the looted funds ended up in the bank accounts of the Congress party.
