Uttar Pradesh News: The Uttar Pradesh government has dispatched a health department team to M Khan Hospital in this city after it was claimed that the hospital circumcised a 2.5-year-old boy instead of performing the tongue operation for which he had been brought there. “Orders have been given to the CMO, Bareilly, to register a FIR against the guilty doctor and hospital management, to cancel the registration of the said hospital with immediate effect, and to make the full report of the proceedings available within 24 hours,” Pathak said. “If the complaint is found to be accurate.” “The said hospital will also be sealed on the basis of the report of the investigation,” he continued. Hospital Accused of Performing Circumcision Instead of Tongue Surgery

The family had gone to the M Khan Hospital for treatment of the child’s stammer, where they were advised to have a tongue surgery, according to Chief Medical Officer Dr. Balbir Singh. Following the procedure, the child’s family claimed that the doctors circumcised the child rather than performing surgery on the tongue. Members of Hindu right organisations also responded strongly to the issue by organising demonstrations and shouting down the hospital. Police were stationed outside the hospital to quell the unrest and stop it from escalating.
