UP News: Days after Delhi Metro Rail Corporation gave a go ahead to carry two sealed bottles of liquor inside the metro, the same commuters if travelling to UP will have to bear some precaution. As in Uttar Pradesh the rules for carrying booze are a little different from the National Capital. The city does not allow to carry liquor from outside the state claiming it is a loss to the state government’s revenue.
‘Only one sealed bottle is allowed in UP’
The UP authorities say their rules only allow to carry one unsealed bottle from outside Uttar Pradesh, be it Haryana or Delhi. It doesn’t matter if the commuter is travelling through Metro or by road. While in Delhi, the passengers are allowed to carry two sealed bottles inside metro. The authorities also say that they will take legal action against the people flouting the norm.
‘Many have been booked in the Past for violating laws’
Also since Liquor is cheaper in Delhi as compared to Uttar Pradesh, most people prefer to buy booze from Delhi and bring it to UP. Many have been made to serve legal action for doing this in the past. People have been caught carrying booze while travelling through road.
