Uttarakhand: Several incidents of paper leaks and cheating have come to light in Uttarakhand in the past few months. In the latest, Patwari Lekhpal recruitment exam has come under radar. Reportedly, the question paper of the exam has been leaked. After this, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has warned those who cheat in the government exams.
According to a statement released by the Chief Minister Office, CM Dhami has said that people who are involved in the cheating scandal will not be able to appear in the competitive exam for the next 10 years. The decision came after the government introduced anti-copying law in the state.
Several incidents of paper leak
The Uttarakhand government has been receiving flake after several incidents of paper leaks came into light. In the recent case, Patwari Recruitment Exam was organised by Uttarakhand Public Service Commission. The question paper of this recruitment exam was leaked before the exam. As per the reports, one of the candidates who was appearing in the exam has leaked the paper.
Anti-copying law in the incident
After receiving flak over the incident, the government has brought an anti-copying law in the state. The enforcement of law will completely bar students who are involved in the incidents from appearing in exams for next 10 years. Also, if found guilty, convicts will be sentenced to life imprisonment, while the wealth earned through the corruption will also be confiscated from him.
Youth angry over paper leak incident
State Chief Secretary Sukhbir Singh Sandhu shared the information also stating that CM Dhami has directed that the anti-counterfeiting law will be very strict. Talking about the paper leak incident, he said that strict action will be taken against the convicts and went on to assert that the government is facing the anger of honest youth due to such incidents. After leak of the papers to be conducted by Subordinate Services Selection Commission, the government has said that Civil services will be given the responsibility of conducting the examination.
