Uttarakhand News: On Friday, two separate complaints were filed against four people under the Uttarakhand Freedom of Religion Act, a day after Uttarakhand police declared they will investigate cases of coercive conversion in the state. In the first instance, authorities arrested a guy and two of his accomplices after they allegedly coerced a 26-year-old Muslim mother and her two boys, who are 8 and 3 years old, into becoming Hindus, and then forced her to wed a Hindu man in Dehradun.
Uttarakhand Police Detains Individual for Offering Namaz to Hindu Man
In a different instance, police detained an unnamed person for “converting and offering namaz to a Hindu man on an online platform.” On Thursday, the first incident took place in Dehradun’s Nehru Colony neighbourhood.

Woman Allegedly Coerced to Become Hindu and Marry Defendant After Husband’s Incarceration
The FIR, states that the woman was previously married. She first encountered Rajendra Panwar, the defendant, when visiting her husband who was incarcerated. Panwar recently got his freedom from prison. He brought the woman and the kids to Jogiwala on June 2. On June 11, he forced the group to become Hindus. After that, he allegedly made her marry him.
