Uttarakhand News: We learn of new ways to murder practically every day, including poisoning, strangulation, and stabbing. However, the Haldwani Police have stumbled onto a case that will intrigue fans of true crime. We’re talking about her girlfriend killing a 32-year-old businessman with the assistance of a cobra. Ankit Chauhan’s body was found in his car earlier on July 15 by Haldwani police. The police initially thought it was a case of asphyxiation murder. But as the police dug a little deeper, they discovered that Chauhan’s girlfriend had devised a well-thought-out scheme to get rid of her partner.
Cobra Venom, Not Carbon Monoxide, Caused Businessman’s Death
His body was discovered in Chauhan’s automobile, on the back seat, close to the teenpani railway crossing. Police discovered throughout their inquiry that the car’s AC was leaking carbon monoxide. At first, they speculated that this might have been the cause of his demise. However, the 23-year-old’s post-mortem study revealed some startling findings. It turned out that the businessman died from being poisoned by the snake’s venom. On his legs, snake bites were discovered during the post-mortem. The police became suspicious as a result, and they started looking at the adjacent CCTV cameras and tracing Chauhan’s call record information. The name Mahi Arya then emerged in that context. Mahi and Chauhan were both dating, according to the police. The businessman’s sister filed a police report at the Haldwani police station alleging that her brother was murdered by Mahi and his associate Deep Kandpal. The name of a snake charmer named Ramesh Nath came up when the authorities dug more into the case. The grisly murderous scheme was subsequently revealed to the police by him.
Snake Charmer Reveals Shocking Details of Murder Plan
The victim’s girlfriend approached the snake charmer and requested his assistance in getting his boyfriend bitten by the snake’s poison so that the murder would appear to be an accident, the snake charmer said during the interrogation. Mahi paid the snake charmer Rs 10,000 to complete the task. He continued by saying that Mahi was distressed by Chauhan’s continual meddling in her life and that she was looking for a way out of the marriage. The snake charmer claimed that Mahi and the other suspects involved in the case have both fled to Nepal, per Times of India. Additionally, two teams have been constituted, according to Nainital SSP Pankaj Bhatt, to find the accused as soon as possible.
