Uttarakhand News: Met Department predicts more rains in the state in the coming days. Orange Alert has been issued in Dehradun, Champawat, Nainital and Udham Singh Nagar districts of Uttarakhand. The Spokesperson of the IMD says Rain activity will intensify from September 13th across the state. Many places will witness heavy showers from September 13to 15th. These heavy rains will continue till September 21st before the Monsoon actually starts receding. People will start receiving less rains after fourth week of September. Schools were shut in two districts after heavy rains. Holiday was declared for classes 6th to 12th.
Holiday declared in Schools & Colleges due to Rains
People living in the low lying areas had to vacate their houses and shit to other areas due to the fear of landslides and heavy rains. In many areas water entered inside the houses and people were using buckets to throw water out of the house. Holiday was declared in schools, Colleges and offices due to heavy downpour. Many Tourist vehicles were also stranded due to the cloud burst and continuous drizzle in the area.
Tourists advised not to go near Hilly Areas
Authorities asked tourists not to visit hilly areas during rains as it will only create chaos and unease because of the bad weather. People were asked not to go near rivers or hilly areas as there are chances of lightening and thunder storms.
