Uttarakhand News: IMD issues yellow alert for heavy rains in the hilly areas of Uttarakhand. There will be rains in all other districts except Haridwar and Udham Singh Nagar. IMD also predicts gutsy winds and cloudy weather for the coming days. Areas like Uttarkashi, Chamoli, Rudraprayag, Tehri, Dehradun, Pauri Pithoragarh, Bageshwar, Almora, Champawat and Nanital will also witness downpour with thunderstorms. The city recorded low temperature due to continuous rains since Saturday. As people were relived from the humidity many areas reported water logging due to the downpour.  

Badrinath Highway closed due to Debris

The administration had to close the Badrinath National Highway due to the debris. Passengers have been asked to choose different route if they are passing through the area. The debris was collected due to continuous rains and stones from the hills. Passengers have been asked to use Rudraprayaf via Pokhri route. Road near the Badrinath National Highway is also blocked due to rains.

Tourists advised not to go near Hilly Areas

There will be no relief from the Rains and thunderstorms for now as predicted by IMD. Tourists have been advised not to go near the hilly areas as there are chances of land slides that may happen anytime since its raining for the past few days.
