Uttarakhand News: Shocking facts have come to light from the survey of the National Highway and Infrastructure Development Corporation limited. It is being revealed that there are over 11 sinking zones and the presence of over 20 land slide areas with the 84 km stretch between kameda and Helang on the Badrinath Highway in Chamoli. The Highway leads to the India China Border. NHIDCL is working on a detailed report of 30 zones.  The zones have blockades which occur during rains resulting in hampering the Char Dham yatra. The Spokesperson of the NHIDCL says these blockades needs to fixed soon and is likely to cause damage if not dealt on time.

Badrinath Highway suffers maximum landslides

The Pagal Nala and the Badrinath Highway have suffered maximum land slides resulting in blocking of roads.  NHIDCL is thinking of building a tunnel to divert the area. The Project also highlighted the Chinkka landslide area which is causing trouble to the devotees heading for the Badrinath Dham yatra.

‘Sensitive Areas will be fixed soon’

The sensitive zones highlighted by NHIDCL needs attention and repair work as rains will cause more damage in these points resulting in more landslides. Authorities are likely to start working on the project soon.
