Amidst this, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has voiced his support for the CAA, extending his gratitude towards Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah for their decisive action.

In a message shared on a social media platform, CM Dhami remarked, “Hearty gratitude to Prime Minister Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah for this historic decision! If Modi is there, then it is possible.” He lauded PM Modi’s resolve in acting in the national interest and expressed anticipation for further nation-strengthening measures during Modi’s third term.
The Citizenship Amendment Act, hinted at by Home Minister Amit Shah during his election campaigns, received Presidential assent in 2019 and has now been officially implemented. The CAA aims to provide Indian citizenship to non-Hindu minorities from Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan, recognizing the challenges faced by these individuals in their home countries.
