Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami reviewed the district-wise disaster situation and relief and rescue operations in the districts through video conferencing with high officials of the government and commissioners and district magistrates at the secretariat on Wednesday evening.
While thoroughly reviewing the water level of rivers, landslides, closed roads, distribution of compensation for loss of life and property, the Chief Minister directed all the District Magistrates to make arrangements for smooth opening of rural roads along with highways, necessary equipment should be arranged at the affected sites.
The Chief Minister has asked the District Magistrates to pay attention to the arrangement of doctors and paramedical staff on the basis of rotation in the hospitals located in the remote areas of the districts, and to maintain adequate supply of medicines and food grains.
CM entrusted the responsibility of relief and rescue operations to the District Magistrates and SSPs
The Chief Minister said that we have to face disaster every year during the rains. Expecting all the departmental heads to stand by him to help the people in such difficult times, he asked the District Magistrates and Senior Superintendents of Police to take the lead in relief and rescue operations and go into the field.
Need to be in alert and active mode all the time- CM
The Chief Minister said that all departments should work with team spirit and positive energy in disaster relief and rescue operations and consider it as their responsibility. It is time to stand with the victims. He said that only with mutual coordination and cooperation, we will be able to face the challenges of disaster in a better way. The Chief Minister also stressed on making an effective long-term plan for drainage and flood management of Haridwar and other plain districts. The Chief Minister said that although the situation is under control in the state, the challenge remains. For this, there is a need to remain in alert and active mode all the time.
Instructing the arrangements for Chardham and Kanwar Yatra to be conducted in an orderly manner, he said that all the people should return safely from the Yatra, they should not face any kind of difficulty. In case of road closure, it should be ensured that there is satisfactory arrangement for the accommodation of the passengers.
