Curfew In 25 Uttarakhand Villages After Tiger Kills 2 Men In 14 Days

In Uttarakhand’s Pauri district, the tiger killed another person within a week, after which the fear of the predatory tiger has increased among the people. The local people are forced to live in fear. Children have stopped going to school. Apart from this, night curfew has been imposed in 25 villages.

Within three days in Rikhanikhal block of Pauri district, the tiger has made another person its victim. This time the tiger killed a 75-year-old man, after which the authorities had to impose night curfew in two dozen villages. DM Ashish Chauhan said that curfew has been imposed in 25 villages from seven in the evening to six in the morning. All schools and Anganwadi centers in the area have also been ordered to remain closed till Tuesday.

Forest Ranger Mahendra Singh Rawat told that on Sunday the villagers recovered the half-eaten body of Ranveer Singh Negi. He lived alone in his house in Simli village of Kalagarh forest division near Corbett Tiger Reserve. Rawat said that Negi was not answering telephone calls of his relatives in Dehradun since Saturday.

Dead body of old man found in bushes

The relatives informed the villagers about the matter and asked them to go and see. When some villagers reached Negi’s house, they found blood stains on the way. Rawat said that after a long search, he found a half-eaten body of a 70-year-old man lying in the bushes about 150 meters away from his house. This is the second such incident in the area in three days.

The first victim was done on 13 April

Earlier on April 13, 72-year-old Birendra Singh was made its prey by the tiger. Had gone to harvest wheat crop in his field in Dalla village, 25 km from Simli. A video surfaced on Monday in which a tiger is seen roaming freely in the fields of Dalla village while cattle are grazing a few meters away.
