Dehradun News: Online food delivery companies are facing increasing pressure to meet their delivery targets, which sometimes results in accidents due to the rush. To address this issue, the transport department in Dehradun has taken a strict stance on accident prevention.
RTO Parivartan Shailesh Tiwari mentioned that the decision to train delivery boys from online food companies was made in collaboration with their consent. He emphasized that representatives from online food delivery companies were instructed not to place undue pressure on their delivery staff.
Online Food Delivery Boy Training:
Tragically, a delivery boy lost his life in a recent accident caused by haste in delivering an order. This unfortunate incident prompted the transport department to take action against food delivery companies. The Transport Department has issued an ultimatum to these companies and warned their representatives that if such incidents occur again, they will be held responsible.
About the training:
During the training program, delivery boys were educated about the importance of wearing helmets and discouraged from jeopardizing the lives of others while making deliveries. Online food supply companies were also reminded of their responsibility to ensure the safety of their employees. The training included instruction on traffic rules and safe navigation through traffic.
Delivery boys were specifically advised not to use their horns excessively, contributing to noise pollution. The training program involved participants from popular food delivery platforms such as Swiggy, Zomato, and Blanket. Delivery boys were imparted essential knowledge about traffic rules and were cautioned against speeding in their haste to complete deliveries.
