In Uttarkashi district, a case has been registered under the anti-copying law against some unknown persons and news portal operators, including a candidate who appeared in the examination, for spreading misleading information regarding the Lekhpal-Patwari recruitment examination.
First case lodged under Uttarakhand anti-copying law
This is the first case under the anti-copying law in the state. Police say that after the completion of the examination, the candidate made a misleading video regarding the question paper and circulated it on the internet media. False and misleading information has also come under the ambit of punishment under the anti-copying law.
The organization and the person who disseminates such information will be considered guilty. After this, examination center administrator and Principal of Government Polytechnic Ladadi (Uttarkashi) Pradeep Chamoli filed a complaint against the accused candidate at Uttarkashi police station.
Alleged that the seal of the question paper was open
It was told in Tahrir that in the examination center set up in the polytechnic, the candidate Arun Kumar resident of Barkot had complained to the in-charge of the room alleging that the seal of the question paper was open. He said that out of three seals on the question paper, two were already open. On this, District Magistrate Abhishek Ruhela reached the spot and called the representative of the State Public Service Commission there and informed about the matter.
Considering the complaint of the candidate to be baseless as the third seal was secure in the question paper, the officials said that the confidentiality of the question paper is fully protected. At that time the candidate also got satisfied with the arguments of the officers. But, after the completion of the exam, he along with some of his colleagues made a video.
In the video, he said misleading things about the question paper and circulated the video on internet media. After the video went viral, the examination center administrator complained about it in Kotwali, after which a case was registered.
