Isro report on Joshimath land subsidence goes missing from govt website

The Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) had released a report regarding Joshimath. It showed that the city sank 5.4 cm between December 27, 2022 and January 8, 2023. In the midst of ever-increasing crisis, now this report of ISRO has also ‘mysteriously’ disappeared from its website. It has also been shown in the report that this incident of land subsidence started from January 2.

The Joshimath Land Subsidence Report is no longer available on the NRSC website. The link to this PDF report is no longer working. The report indicated the seriousness of the situation in the holy city of Chamoli district in Uttarakhand. It was told that this area decreased by around 5 cm in a span of a few days.

Landslide speed increased in 12 days

It has been told in the ISRO report that in a period of 7 months between April and November 2022, a slow fall of up to 9 cm was recorded inside Joshimath city. ISRO’s satellite images released on Friday revealed that the speed of landslides in Joshimath has increased in the last 12 days, while two hotels declared ‘unsafe’ have been demolished and the affected people are safe. The process of visiting places continued.
