Joshimath crisis: Now houses in safe zone develop cracks

Fresh cracks have been observed in houses and buildings in Joshimath, Uttarakhand, declared safe zones by the government and administration. After this once again the problems and worries of the people living here have increased. A few months ago, cracks were seen in houses, buildings and roads in many areas of Joshimath.

People of Gandhinagar ward are worried

According to information, new cracks have appeared in Gandhinagar ward of Joshimath. Which is feared to be due to the fresh rains in the area. A report said that cracks have appeared in buildings in the Yellow Zone, above which is the Red Zone area. Where there were big cracks in the beginning of this year. It was claimed that more than 500 houses in the area had developed cracks. People had to be taken to camps.

The house is in the safe zone

Earlier these cracks were seen in Manohar Bagh, Ravigram, Singhdhar and Marwari wards of the city. Now apart from these, new cracks have been seen in the house of local resident Virendra Lal Tamta. In a media report, the victim has said that earlier there was no crack in his house, but now there are many cracks. The victim has claimed that his house was in a safe zone.

However, after the cracks were noticed, the house has been sealed by the administration for monitoring. Now with the monsoon season approaching, the people of Joshimath are worried about their homes in safe zones. The Uttarakhand administration has started investigating these new cracks seen in the area.

Joshimath is a hill town located on the Rishikesh-Badrinath National Highway (NH-7) in the state of Uttarakhand. Along with this, it is also a big center of tourism. The town is also a rest stop for people visiting Badrinath, Auli and the Valley of Flowers. There is also Vishnuprayag, the confluence of Dhauliganga and Alaknanda rivers.
