Regarding the situation in Joshimath, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has reached ground zero for the second time. On Thursday he reached Narasimha temple and worshiped here. Cracks have appeared in the Nrusingh temple complex, where Adi Guru Shankaracharya’s seat is located in Joshimath, which is facing the danger of landslide. After the doors of Badrinath Dham are closed, Shankaracharya’s seat remains in the Narasimha temple. CM Dhami has reached here to take stock of the situation.
Government stands with the victims – CM Dhami
Pushkar Singh Dhami had reached Joshimath on Wednesday itself and spent the whole night in the town in view of landslides in the area. Apart from this, the CM held various meetings with the officials. The Chief Minister inspected the area and talked to the people. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said on Wednesday that no decision has been taken to demolish any house, nor will such a step be taken in future. Demolition will be done only when it is unavoidable and that too with the consent of the building owner. Regarding Joshimath, CM Dhami has once again assured that the government is standing with the victims. Complete justice will be done to the people.
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami’s second day in Joshimath
Today Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami will hold a meeting in ITBP auditorium. A meeting will be held with the committee formed to determine the rate of transparent distribution of the interim package to the families affected by the disaster. Will also meet Army officers, officials and scientists of ITBP, NDRF and other institutions. Pushkar Singh Dhami district administration will also review the rescue operation along with police officers of essential services. There is also a meeting with the office bearers and workers of the party. The Chief Minister is staying in Joshimath since Wednesday. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami had met the disaster affected families last night.
Secretariat association came forward for the disaster affected people of Joshimath
Deepak Joshi of the Secretariat Association has appealed to the officers and employees to pay one day’s salary regarding the Joshimath disaster. Secretariat Union will give funds to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund. Secretariat Association will provide financial help to the disaster victims of Joshimath. A letter has been issued for this.
On Wednesday, Pushkar Singh Dhami said, “Our priority is to save people from this disaster, provide them assistance.” When asked about compensation to Joshimath victims, CM Dhami said, “We will give appropriate monetary assistance (compensation). A committee has been formed under the District Magistrate. It will discuss with everyone and decide. We have set criteria for compensation and we will provide best compensation accordingly, entire government is with the people of Joshimath.”
Joshimath tragedy case in Delhi HC
The Uttarakhand government has told the Delhi HC that the Center and the state government are working together to deal with the Joshimath tragedy. National and State Disaster Response Force have been deployed for relief work. A large number of people have been safely displaced from there. Two committees have been formed to investigate the matter. In fact, in the petition filed by advocate Rohit Dandriyal in the Delhi High Court, a demand has been made to set up a High Power Committee regarding the investigation of the Joshimath landslide. It has been said in this petition that representatives of the ministry should be included in this committee to be formed under the chairmanship of a retired judge of the High Court. In the petition, a demand has also been made for the safe rehabilitation of the people affected by the disaster.
A high-level meeting on the disaster-hit Joshimath case was held under the chairmanship of Home Minister Amit Shah. The Home Minister is having a meeting with the Union Ministers. In this meeting, Road Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari, Environment Minister Bhupendra Yadav, Jal Shakti Minister Gajendra Shekhawat, Energy Minister RK Singh, Home Secretary, Army officers, BRO officials and other Home Ministry officials were present in the meeting. The Home Minister took a meeting for about 1 hour.
