According to media reports, about 4,000 people have been shifted to a safer place by evacuating 600 houses. Whatever houses in the city are unsafe, the demolition work will start on Tuesday.

The central team said that 30 percent of Joshimath is affected. A report is being prepared by the expert committee and will be submitted to the PMO.

Joshimath DM Himanshu Khurana said that the Ministry of Jal Shakti had constituted a team, which came on Monday. A team will also come from the Home Ministry of the Government of India on Tuesday. We are working under the supervision and supervision of Central Building Research Institute Roorkee.
The DM said that his team is coming on Tuesday, action will be taken to demolish the nearby buildings which may be dangerous for the people.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday spoke to Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami over phone to inquire about the situation including the steps taken so far for the safety and rehabilitation of the residents and assured them of necessary assistance.
