Mukhayamantri Saur Swarojgar Yojna: Uttarakhand CM Solar Self-Employment Scheme 2024, initially launched by former Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat, aimed at providing employment opportunities to the state’s unemployed. Now, current Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has taken the scheme further, offering rural youth in Uttarakhand a chance to establish their own businesses through solar energy. The initiative seeks to curb migration from rural areas to cities by creating local employment opportunities.
Scheme Implementation and Key Features
The CM Solar Self-Employment Scheme has been rolled out across Uttarakhand, under which the government allows the installation of solar power plants with a capacity of up to 25 kW. This scheme provides rural youth with the opportunity to start their own businesses. It also aims to solve electricity problems in remote areas, allowing the energy generated to be sold back to the government. The initiative targets all sections of society in rural Uttarakhand, with a focus on encouraging more youth to open their own ventures.
Objective of the Scheme
With rising unemployment being a significant concern across the country, various state governments are implementing measures to tackle this issue. In Uttarakhand, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has launched this scheme to offer unemployed youth and farmers an opportunity to create self-employment. The primary goal of the scheme is to reduce unemployment in the state, with a specific focus on turning barren agricultural land into productive spaces by installing solar power plants. By doing so, the scheme aims to provide sustainable employment and boost the rural economy.
