Dress code will now have to be followed to enter the temples of Uttarakhand. Devotees coming in western dress will no longer be allowed to enter the temples. All the devotees have been requested to follow the relevant guidelines so that no one is inconvenienced. In fact, wearing western clothes in the temples of Haridwar will now be prohibited, instructions related to this have been issued. Mahant Ravindrapuri, the manager of Haridwar’s Daksheshwar Mahadev Temple and secretary of the Mahanirvani Panchayati Akhara, president of Akhil Bhartiya Akhara Parishad, has said that young men and women will not be allowed to enter the temples wearing such clothes.
Mahant Ravindpuri said that now all the young men and women who come to the temples will go wearing clothes associated with Indian culture. For the time being, this ban has also been imposed in Daksheshwar Mahadev Temple of Haridwar, Neelkanth Mahadev Temple of Pauri Garhwal and Tapkeshwar Mahadev Temple of Dehradun. This dress code is being implemented wherever there are temples of Shri Panchayati Mahanirvani Akhara all over the country. Daksheshwar Mahadev Temple Kankhal is one of the ancient temples of Haridwar, where people reach from far and wide to have darshan of Lord Shiva. Every Monday the temple is crowded with devotees.
Akhil Bhartiya Akhara Parishad President Mahant Ravindrapuri said that the youths were coming to the temple wearing clothes against the dignity of the temples, which was hurting the religious sentiments of the rest of the devotees. People were complaining about this to the temple committee. After this, it has now been decided to implement the dress code. Women and girls wearing short clothes will not be allowed to enter the temple.
