Traffic jams will now be easily relieved, flyovers will be built at six places including Dehradun-Haldwan

Now people will not have to face the problem of traffic jam in different cities of Uttarakhand. To solve the problem of traffic jams in the cities, the Central Government has approved the construction of six flyovers across the state. In the cities of Dehradun, Haldwani, Roorkee, Haridwar, Rudrapur. People are now expected to get relief from traffic jam in the coming days.

Flyovers will be built at six places including Dehradun-Haldwan

The Union Ministry of Road Transport has approved several flyover projects in the state. Two of these flyovers are to be built in Haridwar district. In Haridwar district, a 70 meter long flyover has been sanctioned at the railway level crossing at 4 km of Jwalapur Sarai Ekkad Dhanpura State Highway and a 70 meter long flyover at the railway level crossing at km 16 of Roorkee-Laxar Balawali State Highway.

The Uttarakhand government had requested the Union Ministry of Road Transport and Highways to approve flyover projects on six roads under the CRIF Setu Bandhan scheme. A total budget of around Rs 193 crore has been approved for these six projects. The Union Ministry of Road Transport has sent a letter to the state in this context.

Ministry of Road Transport and Railways will bear the cost Principal Secretary of Public Works Department RK Sudhanshu told that the six roads of the state on which flyovers have been approved. Excessive pressure of vehicles was increasing on them.

Railways passes more than one lakh train vehicle unitsat all these places. In such a situation, for the first time, the Center has approved the construction of flyovers on the roads of the state.

Fifty percent of the expenditure on the construction of these flyovers will be spent by the Union Ministry of Road Transport and fifty percent of the budget by the Ministry of Railways. However, the cost of land acquisition, utility shifting and transfer of forest land will be borne by the state government.
