UP News: In a significant move towards sustainable agriculture, the Uttar Pradesh government is promoting the adoption of solar-powered irrigation systems among farmers. Over 50,000 farmers in the state will transition to using renewable energy for their irrigation needs, thanks to a substantial subsidy provided by the government.

Under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Urja Suraksha evam Utthaan Mahabhiyan (PM-KUSUM) scheme, the UP government is offering a subsidy of ₹551 crore to encourage farmers to switch to solar energy. This initiative not only supports sustainable farming practices but also aims to empower the agricultural sector by reducing dependency on conventional energy sources and lowering operational costs for farmers.
