Uttarakhand: 3 Arrests along with officer who leaked JE-AE paper

The SIT on Saturday arrested Sanjeev Kumar, section officer of the State Public Service Commission, and two touts in connection with the paper leak of JE and AE exams in Uttarakhand.

Cash worth seven lakhs and blank checks of various banks taken as guarantees from the candidates have been recovered from their possession. SIT is raiding in search of BJP leader and former Mandal President Sanjay Dhariwal.

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami had given instructions for the investigation

During the inquiry in the paper leak case of Lekhpal recruitment exam, the SIT had come to know of irregularities in the JE and AE exams held in April-May 2022. After this, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami had instructed the SIT to investigate the matter.

After investigation, on Friday, the SIT had filed a case against the nine accused at the Kankhal police station. In this case, five accused including State Public Service Commission Section Officer Sanjeev Chaturvedi are already in jail in the Lekhpal recruitment paper leak case. While four accused were absconding.

The SIT on Saturday arrested another section officer of the Commission, Sanjeev Kumar, resident of Public Service Commission Colony, Kankhal, Haridwar and Nitin Chauhan, resident of Village Anneki, Sidkul Haridwar and Sunil Saini, resident of Purwala Laksar.

SSP Ajay Singh told that all three have been produced in the court and sent to jail. The SIT has also come to know the names of the candidates who bought the papers of JE and AE exams. In the investigation so far, the number of candidates has increased to around 50.
