Doon girl student stuck in violence-hit Manipur can reach home by Sunday evening. The girl student had requested Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami by e-mail to get her out of there. After this the administration swung into action and booked a plane ticket for the girl student.
Ishita Saxena of Dehradun is studying BSc second year at Central Agricultural University. Ishita’s father do business of generator parts in Dehradun. For the past several days, violence has raged across Manipur. The most affected cities include the capital Imphal. Ishita Saxena told that for many days there is continuous firing and bombardment. There are reports of fire throughout the day. She has been asked to remain in the dark for several days.
There was a problem of food and drink till Friday, but on Saturday the food and drink system has been supplied. Ishita told that students from other states who were studying with her are also slowly leaving Imphal. Only a few students are left with Ishita. Ishita had on Saturday e-mailed the Chief Minister requesting her to be rescued.
On this, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami instructed the officials to make arrangements to evacuate Ishita from Imphal. The state government will bear the expenditure on this. Ishita told that in the evening she got the news that an air ticket has been booked for her from Imphal to Delhi on Sunday.
I have spoken to DGP Manipur. He has arranged a flight ticket for Ishita from Imphal to Delhi. DGP Manipur has said about taking Ishita out safely. Ishita can reach Dehradun by Sunday evening says Ashok Kumar, DGP, Uttarakhand.
