A village in Uttarakhand, which was deserted during the Indo-China war, has got the status of a tourist destination. The Uttarakhand Tourism Development Board has announced to make the state’s border village “Jadung” a tourist destination. Jadung is the first of the five villages that will not only be rehabilitated but also developed as a tourist destination.

Jadung village is a small village situated on the Indo-Tibet border. Which is situated amidst the breathtaking Himalayas. The unmatched natural beauty of the lush green valley with its snow clad mountains will fascinate you. This village is situated at an altitude of about 3800 m and at a distance of about 45-50 km from Harsil.
Seeing its beauty, people also call it Ladakh of Uttarakhand. The picture of this very beautiful village changed in 1962 after the war between India and China. Before 1962, Indo-Tibet used to be the silk route of trade, but after the war, this village became deserted, but since then till now this village remains deserted.
