Uttarakhand medical services selection board: The recruitment of 254 Ayurveda Medical Officers in Uttarakhand, conducted by the Uttarakhand Medical Services Selection Board, has come under scrutiny due to allegations of irregularities. The situation remains uncertain pending the investigation report by the Director of Ayurveda. Currently, the appointment of selected candidates has been put on hold at the government level.
Details of the Recruitment:
The recruitment process for Ayurveda Medical Officers began based on a proposal from the Ayurveda Department. Results were declared on June 30, and the list of selected candidates was forwarded to the government. Simultaneously, recruitment for 24 Homeopathy Doctor positions was also in progress.
Complaints and Inquiry:
Complaints of irregularities in the recruitment process prompted Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami to order an inquiry on August 4. Consequently, the recruitment process for Homeopathy Doctor positions was postponed. Additionally, the government halted the appointment of selected candidates for the 254 Ayurveda doctor positions and entrusted the investigation to the Director of Ayurveda.
Awaiting Investigation Report:
Dr. Vijay Kumar, Ayurveda Director, and Additional Secretary, is currently conducting the investigation. Secretary AYUSH, Dr. Pankaj Kumar Pandey, has stated that the government will make decisions regarding the selection process based on the findings of the investigation report.
Candidates selected for the Ayurveda doctor positions have expressed their concerns, noting that the recruitment process marked the first appointment in the department in 11 years. Despite the examination results being declared in May, appointments have not been made. BJP leader Ravindra Jugran has taken up the matter and is advocating for the selected candidates’ rights.
The recruitment of Ayurveda Medical Officers in Uttarakhand is currently in limbo, pending the outcome of the investigation into alleged irregularities. The government is expected to make decisions regarding the selection process based on the findings of the investigation report, while candidates and political leaders continue to advocate for transparency and fairness in the process.
