Uttarakhand News: Aditya Raj Saini, a prominent BJP leader from Uttarakhand, has been expelled from the party following his arrest in connection with the rape and murder of a 13-year-old girl in Haridwar. In addition to his expulsion from the party, Saini has also been removed from his position as a nominated member of the Other Backward Classes Commission.
Family’s Accusations Lead to Arrest
A case was registered against Saini after the victim’s family accused him of rape and murder. Saini, who had previously sought a party ticket in the last assembly elections, found himself at the center of a heinous crime investigation.
The girl had been missing for three days before her body was discovered along the highway in the Bahadrabad area near the Patanjali Research Centre. Her mother alleged in her complaint that her daughter was gang-raped by Aditya Raj Saini and his accomplice before being murdered.
Disturbing Details of the Case
According to the police, after the girl failed to return home, her family attempted to reach her on her cellphone. The call was answered by Aditya Raj Saini, who claimed the girl was with him. Shortly after, the phone was switched off, heightening the family’s fears.
The following morning, the girl’s mother went to Saini’s residence, where another suspect, Amit Saini, also lived. Despite searching, she could not find her daughter. When she informed the BJP leader of her intent to go to the police, he allegedly threatened to kill her.
Legal Proceedings and Charges
After the girl’s body was found, Aditya Raj Saini and Amit Saini were charged with gang rape and murder under the relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. Local police officer Pramendra Dobhal confirmed these developments, as reported by the Press Trust of India.
Party’s Response
The BJP has acted swiftly in response to these grave accusations by expelling Saini from the party. This case has sparked outrage and calls for stringent measures against those who commit such horrific crimes. The investigation continues as the community and the nation await justice for the young victim.
