President Droupadi Murmu concluded her three-day visit to Uttarakhand by attending the state’s 23rd Foundation Day celebrations at Dehradun Police Lines. The day marks the establishment of Uttarakhand as a separate state in 2000, separating from Uttar Pradesh. Greeting the people on this occasion, President Murmu expressed happiness at witnessing Uttarakhand’s developmental strides under its new identity.

Commending the state’s focus on both ecology and the economy in its development, President Murmu praised the initiative to estimate Gross Environment Product (GEP), emphasizing the importance of sustainable development. She noted that the state’s emphasis on GDP and GEP, given its abundant natural resources, will contribute to sustainable progress.

Highlighting the increasing physical and digital connectivity, coupled with rapid infrastructure development in Uttarakhand, the President remarked that the state’s multi-dimensional progress is fostering enthusiasm among investors. The President’s positive remarks underscore the state’s commitment to balanced development and environmental considerations in its growth trajectory.
