Uttarakhand News: State Government Extends Free Gas Cylinder Scheme for Antyodaya Families Until 2027

Initially launched in 2022-23, this welfare scheme provides three free LPG cylinders annually to economically disadvantaged families.

Uttarakhand News: On the occasion of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya’s birth anniversary, the state government has announced a significant extension for Antyodaya ration cardholders. Finance Minister Premchand Agarwal has approved the continuation of the Mukhyamantri Free Three Gas Cylinder Scheme until 2027. Initially launched in 2022-23, this welfare scheme provides three free LPG cylinders annually to economically disadvantaged families. It was set to conclude in March 2024, but given its importance, it has been extended.

Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya’s Vision of Upliftment

Minister Agarwal highlighted Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya’s dedication to the upliftment of the poorest and most marginalized sections of society. Upadhyaya believed that a nation’s development must include the welfare of the underprivileged, which forms the foundation of a prosperous and inclusive society. This scheme aligns with his principles of Antyodaya (upliftment of the last person), ensuring that even the remotest and most economically challenged families receive the government’s support.

Government’s Commitment to Welfare

The extension of this scheme is in line with both the central government’s and the state’s focus on the welfare of marginalized communities. Following in the footsteps of Upadhyaya’s ideals, the government continues to work on initiatives that improve the lives of economically weaker sections, particularly in remote and difficult-to-reach areas.
