Uttarakhand News : Uttarakhand CM Approves Over Rs 1,400 Lakh for Key Irrigation and Renovation Projects

Uttarakhand News– In a significant boost to irrigation infrastructure and development in Uttarakhand, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has approved substantial funds under NABARD for several crucial projects across the state.

The CM has sanctioned Rs 488.40 lakh for the renovation of the damaged Kadai Khala Gul in Bhopalpani, located in the Raipur development block of Dehradun district. This funding will also cover the repair and reconstruction of the head and culverts of the main canal in Thano, ensuring the efficient functioning of vital water resources in the area.

In another major development, Rs 156.57 lakh has been approved for the construction of a new tube well equipped with a sprinkler irrigation system in village Chharba Jungleat Chowki, Ward No. 15, located in the Sahaspur development block of Vikasnagar assembly constituency. This project aims to enhance agricultural productivity and support local farmers by providing reliable irrigation facilities.

Furthering his commitment to rural development, the CM has also sanctioned Rs 463.16 lakh for the restoration and renovation of the right Kho canal in the Kotdwar area of Dugdda development block in Pauri Garhwal district. This project is expected to play a crucial role in sustaining agricultural activities in the region.

New Lift Irrigation Schemes

The Chief Minister has also approved Rs 175.54 lakh for the construction of a lift irrigation scheme in the village of Lwali, situated in the Pauri development block, and an additional Rs 126.68 lakh for a similar scheme in the village of Paithani within the Thalisain development block. These lift irrigation schemes will provide much-needed water supply to these villages, significantly improving local agriculture and water management.

These approvals demonstrate the Uttarakhand government’s ongoing commitment to enhancing the state’s agricultural infrastructure and ensuring that rural areas have access to essential resources. By prioritizing irrigation and canal renovation projects, CM Pushkar Singh Dhami aims to strengthen the agricultural sector and support the livelihoods of farmers across the state.
