Uttarakhand News: In light of the tragic incident in Delhi where three children lost their lives due to waterlogging in a coaching center basement, Uttarakhand’s Housing Minister Dr. Premchand Aggarwal has issued stringent directives for coaching centers across the state. The minister took cognizance of the incident and instructed officials to ensure such tragedies do not occur in Uttarakhand.
Urgent Directives Issued
Dr. Aggarwal conveyed his instructions via telephone to Additional Secretary Housing Atar Singh and MDDA Vice Chairman Banshidhar Tiwari. He emphasized the need for an immediate campaign to inspect coaching centers in the state.
Preventive Measures and Compliance
Referring to the Delhi incident where two girls and one boy drowned in a basement due to waterlogging, Dr. Aggarwal stressed the importance of preventive measures in Uttarakhand. He instructed that any coaching centers not adhering to safety standards should face prompt action. Specific directives include:
- Ensuring safety measures are in place.
- Implementing proper evacuation plans in case of disasters.
- Taking immediate action against coaching centers that do not meet these requirements.

Dr. Aggarwal’s directives aim to prevent similar incidents in Uttarakhand, ensuring that coaching centers operate within established safety norms. The focus is on safeguarding students by enforcing strict compliance with safety and disaster management protocols in all coaching centers.
