Uttarakhand Weather Update– The Meteorological Center has issued a red and orange alert for extremely heavy rainfall in several districts of Uttarakhand, particularly in the hilly areas. Champawat, Nainital, and Udham Singh Nagar, along with Pauri, Pithoragarh, Bageshwar, and Almora districts, are expected to experience intense rainfall on Tuesday. Other districts are also likely to witness multiple rounds of heavy rain.
Precautionary Measures Advised
Meteorologists have advised residents to avoid unnecessary travel during the rainfall. They have also emphasized the need for heightened vigilance in landslide-prone and sensitive areas both during the day and at night. Additionally, it is recommended not to leave vehicles and livestock in open spaces during the heavy rains.
Schools and Anganwadi Centers to Remain Closed
In light of the heavy rainfall warning issued by the Meteorological Center and the Disaster Management Authority, all Anganwadi centers and schools in the affected districts will remain closed on Tuesday. The District Magistrate has issued an order stating that educational institutions will be closed on July 23 to ensure the safety of children and to avoid any inconvenience during the heavy rains. Schools in Champawat and Pithoragarh will also remain closed.
Residents are urged to stay updated with weather forecasts and take necessary precautions to ensure their safety during this period of heavy rainfall.
