Dehradun Weather Update— The weather in Uttarakhand has undergone a significant change, bringing much-needed relief to residents from the scorching heat. Heavy rainfall in Dehradun and surrounding areas, including Mussoorie, Dhanaulti, and Chakrata, has brought down temperatures and alleviated the impact of hot winds.
The downpour, accompanied by strong winds, occurred in the afternoon, resulting in a notable drop in Dehradun’s temperature. This shift in weather has provided a respite from the intense heat that had been affecting the region. The Meteorological Department has indicated that this rain will continue to offer relief from the extreme heat and hot winds in the coming days.
Weather Alert and Predictions
The Meteorological Department had issued an alert for rain and strong winds across the state on June 19. Vikram Singh, Director of the Meteorological Center, had predicted light rain in most parts of the state, including Dehradun, Pauri, Haridwar, Udham Singh Nagar, Nainital, and Champawat. This prediction proved to be accurate, as these regions experienced the expected rainfall.
Future Forecast
According to the Meteorological Department, there is a lower likelihood of rain from June 19 to June 23. However, the forecast indicates that rain will return across the state on June 24 and 25. Residents are advised to stay informed about weather updates and be prepared for further changes.
