On Thursday, when a Ram Navami procession was passing by a mosque in Hassan, Karnataka, two groups got into a fight and violence broke out. According to police, two people were stabbed during the attacks and suffered injuries.
Four people were hurt, according to the police, and three of them were identified as being Hindus named Murali, Harsha, and Rakhi.
According to a complaint, two miscreants from another gang entered the rally, stabbed the four individuals, and then fled the scene.
When the incident occurred, Bajrang Dal activists were holding a rally in honour of Ram Navami close to Channarayapatna.
According to the police, two individuals got into a fight with Bajrang Dal activists as the procession arrived at a mosque on Begur Road and stabbed four persons.
Another complaint has been made, according to Azhar Ahmed, who says some of the procession’s participants were carrying canes and stones.
Ahmed reported to the police that rally participants shouted things such, “Muslims should be chased to Pakistan” and “they should not be here.”
He claimed that several Bajrang Dal activists rounded him while others threw stones at his car and him. He claimed that between 15 and 20 people attempted to attack him, but he managed to flee the scene with the aid of two others.
Police detained nine persons after conducting a preliminary investigation and describing the event as a “small scuffle.”
