A 27-year-old man Gufran who was wanted in many charges of murder and dacoity was shot dead by police on Tuesday morning in another encounter killing in Uttar Pradesh.
The deceased was identified by police as Muhammed Gufran, 27. He had a reward of Rs. 1.25 lakh on his capture and was accused in more than a dozen cases.
A resident of the nearby Pratapgarh district named Gufran was hurt during a gunfight with the Uttar Pradesh Police’s Special Task Force team close to Samda village in the Kaushambi district, according to Superintendent of Police Brijesh Kumar Srivastava. Despite being sent to the local hospital right away, he passed away from his wounds.

Atiq Ahmed, gangster turned politician, as well as his brother and son, were recently murdered. On July 10, 2020, thug Vikas Dubey and gangster Tinku Kapala both perished in encounter killings.
Many of these occurrences have been called into doubt as being genuine by opposition parties and human rights advocates. In the state over the past six years, a designated criminal has been slain by police at least once every 13 days.
