7th Pay Commission: From January 1, 2023, the Uttar Pradesh government has increased the dearness allowance (DA) for its employees and the dearness relief for its pensioners by 4% each. Yogi Adityanath, the chief minister, announced the decision late on Tuesday night, claiming that it will help the state’s 11.55 million pensioner and 16.35 million employees.
“In the larger interest of 16.35 lakh state staff and 11 lakh pensioners serving in the UP government, the government has decided to increase the rate of dearness allowance and dearness relief by 4 per cent from 38 per cent to 42 per cent from January 1, 2023,” he added.
16 lakh UP state government employees and 11.5 lakh pensioners will benefit from the increase in DA and DR. The hike will raise the DA and DR for employees and pensioners from 38% to up to 42%.
The Central Government has raised the DA of its employees and pensioners to 42% earlier on March 24. The UP government will now also raise the DA and DR of its workers and retirees by 4%.
A 4% increase in Dearness Allowance (DA) was announced by the Haryana government in April for state government employees who are receiving their pay according to the 7th Pay Commission’s framework.
The Finance Department of the Government of Haryana issued an order on Thursday stating that DA would increase from the current rate of 38% to 42% of the basic pay beginning on January 1, 2023.
