Once again a new record has been set in Ayodhya. Ram Nagri has got the Guinness Book of World Records for the fifth time in a row. This time in Ram Nagari, the record of the city of Mahakal has been broken by lighting 15 lakh 76 thousand diyas simultaneously. The Deepotsav, which started with 1 lakh 82 thousand diyas in Ayodhya since 2017, is making a new record every year.
In Ayodhya, 15 lakh 76 lakh lamps were lit on Ram’s foot. Its certificate was handed over by the Guinness Book of World. The Chief Minister raised this certificate on the stage with his hands and greeted the entire Ayodhya and the people of the state. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who arrived in the first Deepotsav of the second term, also became a witness to this. He congratulated Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on this unforgettable, wonderful achievement. After receiving the certificate, the Prime Minister was seen patting the Chief Minister on the back.
In 2017 in Ayodhya, Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia’s then Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Manoj Dixit, along with university students, started the 1.82 lakh diyas Jalkar Deepotsav at Ram ki Paidi, although it did not figure in the Guinness Book of Records in the first year. In view of the successful Deepotsav, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath took the responsibility of holding Deepotsav in Ram Nagri in 2018 and handed over the responsibility to the District Administration including Tourism Department and Information Department. The government administration and the university together made a record by lighting 3 lakh 01 thousand diyas on Ram’s foot in 2018, for the first time Ram Nagri got the Guinness Book of World Records. After this, 4 lakh 4 thousand in 2019, 6 lakh 6 thousand in 2020, 9 lakh 41 thousand lamps were lit in 2021. In these years, new records were being set one after the other in Ram Nagari.
The record of 9 lakh 41 thousand lamps on Ram’s foot was broken on March 1, 2022 in Ujjain, the city of Mahakal. On the occasion of Mahashivratri, 11 lakh 71 thousand diyas were lit on the banks of river Shipra. For eight months, Ram Nagri once again recorded this record in its name. That is, the record of Ujjain, the city of Mahakal, was once again broken in the city of Ram. Prime Minister Modi also became a witness to this.
The entire Ayodhya reverberated with the chant of ‘Jai Shri Ram’ as the representatives of the Guinness Book of World Records announced the creation of the record. As soon as the stage operator gave this information, the entire Ayodhya reverberated with deafening slogans of ‘Jai Siya Ram’ once again. Earlier last year also the record of lighting the lamp was created at the same place.
One month’s hard work and 22 thousand volunteers made a record
Under the leadership of University Vice Chancellor Prof Akhilesh Kumar Singh, preparations were being made for the Deepotsav for a month. The nodal officer of Deepotsav was made Prof. Ajay Pratap Singh. 22 thousand workers of universities and social organizations created a new record by lighting 15 lakh 76 thousand lamps simultaneously on 23rd October. This is the first time that 76 thousand lamps have been lit more than the target set by the administration.
