Bahraich Violence: A shocking incident occurred in Bahraich, Uttar Pradesh, where a 22-year-old man was shot dead during a Durga Maa procession in Maharajganj Bazar, Mansoor village. The tragic incident, reportedly triggered by a communal clash over music played during the procession, has heightened tensions in the area. The victim, identified as Ram Gopal Mishra, was killed in the violence, while several others sustained injuries due to stone-pelting.

UP Bahraich SP Reports on Investigation

Bahraich SP Vrinda Shukla provided details about the incident, explaining that the Durga Maa procession was passing through a sensitive area near a Masjid when arguments broke out between the two groups. “A man from the Hindu community was shot dead after bullets were fired, and idol immersions were halted for a while,” Shukla said. She added that the situation is now under control, and thirty people have been taken into custody. Efforts are ongoing to locate the main suspect, who remains on the run.

UP CM Yogi Adityanath Orders Probe, Assures Justice

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath condemned the Bahraich incident and promised that the culprits will face severe punishment. He stated, “Those responsible for disturbing the peace in Bahraich will not be spared,” and directed the police to ensure that those involved in the communal violence are brought to justice. He also assured that the idol immersion ceremonies will continue under strict security measures, adding that officials have been tasked with maintaining communication between religious groups.

Deputy CM Brajesh Pathak Vows Strict Action

UP Deputy CM Brajesh Pathak also weighed in on the Bahraich violence, stating, “No one is allowed to take the law into their hands. Those found guilty will face strict punishment.” He further added that an investigation is underway, and the situation has been stabilized. Pathak warned that any police officials found negligent in handling the situation would face disciplinary action.

On the other hand, Shalabh Mani Tripathi, an MLA from Deoria, shared a video and accused extremists of instigating the violence. “Ram Gopal Mishra was shot multiple times, and no one will save the murderers. Such action will be taken that generations will remember it,” Tripathi said.

Political Leader ST Hasan Calls for Restraint

Addressing the Bahraich incident, Samajwadi Party leader ST Hasan urged both communities to act responsibly and avoid inciting violence. He remarked, “No community should provoke the other by playing loud music near Masjids during Namaz or engaging in stone-pelting. Such actions escalate tensions and lead to Hindu-Muslim clashes, weakening the fabric of society.” Hasan called for immediate action against those who violated the law.

The Bahraich incident continues to draw strong political reactions as investigations proceed. Authorities are on high alert to prevent further escalation.
