CM Yogi Adityanath Criticises Opposition for Silence on Hindu Killings in Bangladesh, Says "Hindus Are Not Their Voters

CM Yogi Adityanath

CM Yogi Adityanath: With Sheikh Hasina’s departure, the ruling “Awami League” party in Bangladesh has lost its power and an interim administration has been established. Reports of crimes against the Hindu minority in Bangladesh are emerging, despite claims that things are gradually getting back to normal. This is extremely worrying.

Yogi Adityanath, the chief minister of Uttar Pradesh, voiced his worry today about the violence that Hindus are still facing in Bangladesh and harshly condemned the opposition for keeping quiet about it. CM Yogi said that the leaders of the Hindu community in Bangladesh have not spoken out since they are not possible voters for the opposition. His words have sparked a heated political controversy.

CM Yogi Adityanath Targets the Opposition

CM Yogi Adityanath has openly criticized the opposition, expressing his concern over the violence against Hindu minorities in Bangladesh. He stated,”Wahan 90% jo Hindu bacha hai, woh Dalit samuday se hai. Lekin sabhi ke mooh isliye sile hue hain, kyunki unhe maloom hai ki Bangladesh ka Hindu unke liye voter nahi hoga.” (90% of the remaining Hindu population in Bangladesh belongs to the Dalit community, yet the opposition has chosen to remain silent because these Hindus do not constitute their voter base.)

Additionally, CM Yogi advised the opposition parties to rise above their anti-BJP and anti-Modi stance and speak out for the protection of Bangladeshi Hindus. It is believed that CM Yogi was indirectly referring to the main opposition parties in Uttar Pradesh, such as the Samajwadi Party (SP) and the Congress Party. His statement has sparked a heated discussion in political circles, and it is making headlines.

Opposition’s Silence on Hindu Persecution

When it comes to the topic of crimes committed against Hindus in Bangladesh, the opposition has often kept quiet. Regarding the defence of Hindu minorities, there has been no plea from Congress leaders Rahul and Priyanka Gandhi’s official social media accounts. Akhilesh Yadav, the head of the Samajwadi Party, and other well-known opposition figures have also refrained from commenting. On the other hand, opposition leaders at an all-party conference said they supported the policies of the Indian government and wished for the speedy return of peace to Bangladesh.
