Diwali 2024 has brought a wave of excitement across India, and Ayodhya, the birthplace of Lord Ram, has taken this celebration to extraordinary heights. This Diwali holds special meaning for Ayodhya as it’s the first since the consecration of the magnificent Ram Temple, making the celebrations even more memorable. Ayodhya’s grand Deepotsav festival not only dazzled crowds but also set two remarkable Guinness World Records, capturing global attention. Here’s a closer look at how Ayodhya made Diwali 2024 unforgettable.
Diwali 2024’s First Record: Over 2.5 Million Lamps Lit Along the Saryu
In a stunning display of light, Ayodhya set a Guinness World Record by lighting more than 2.5 million oil lamps—exactly 25,12,585—along the banks of the sacred Saryu River. This breathtaking scene turned Ayodhya into a golden glow and brought together visitors from all corners of the country. The scale of the display not only symbolized Diwali’s essence of light over darkness but also became a historic first in Ayodhya’s seven-year Deepotsav celebration.

In this powerful gathering, 1,121 people participated together, creating a stunning moment of unity and devotion. The synchronized prayers and rituals brought a spiritual energy to the celebration, making it a truly unforgettable experience. This massive turnout, proudly verified by the Uttar Pradesh Tourism Department, further established Diwali 2024 as a landmark event for Ayodhya.
