On the eve of the start of the airline’s inaugural flight from Lucknow, Akasa Air representatives gave chief minister Yogi Adityanath the first symbolic boarding pass on Saturday.

The CM stated that December 25 is observed as “good governance day” in honour of former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, who served Lucknow in the Lok Sabha five times.

“A new air service is beginning from Lucknow to Mumbai and Bengaluru on the anniversary of his birth. We are all encouraged by it, Yogi added.
The chief minister claimed that the “Udaan” programme put forth by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has greatly helped Uttar Pradesh. He added that enhanced flight services in Uttar Pradesh and the common man being able to fly while wearing pyjamas were now becoming a reality.
Yogi suggested that Varanasi should also be connected to Akasa Air’s service. According to a statement from the state administration, the CM said that the state was building 10 new airports.
He declared that air service would soon begin in towns such as Aligarh, Azamgarh, Moradabad, Saharanpur, Chitrakoot, Shravasti, and Sonbhadra. In Chitrakoot, he said, an airport was being constructed at a very high height. He advised Air Akasa authorities to launch air service from Kushinagar, Varanasi, or Lucknow to Kathmandu.
According to the statement, key executives including Akasa Air CEO Vinay Dubey, co-founders Neelu Khatri and Praveen Iyer, vice president Harjinder Singh, and many others were there.
