Amidst increasing cases of pet dog attacks, Ghaziabad Municipal Corporation has taken a big decision. According to the new decision of the Municipal Corporation, now no resident of Ghaziabad will be able to keep Pitbull, Rottweiler and Dogo Argentino breeds as pets.
Municipal corporation made rules
The municipal corporation on Saturday issued several other guidelines for pet owners, according to which they will have to get a license for their dogs. This license will be issued from November 1 and no family can have more than one pet dog.
These rules made by high rise societies
Pet owners living in high-end societies will have to use service lifts to take their dogs out and ensure that their mouths are covered in public. The decision comes amid several incidents of dog bites from different parts of the city in recent months. Under the new order, animal owners will have to register within two months.
Significantly, the Ghaziabad Municipal Corporation has recognized that three breeds (Pitbull, Rottweiler and Dogo Argentinian) are dreadful and no permission will be given to keep these dogs. Also, no license will be issued for these three. If anyone buys one of these, he will be responsible. All these three breeds have been banned in Ghaziabad by the administration.
Dogs will have to be sterilized
BJP leader and councilor of Ghaziabad Municipal Corporation Sanjay Singh had proposed a ban on these breeds, which was passed by the civic body. He said that those who already have these breeds of dogs, they will have to get them sterilized within two months. In this matter, Mayor Asha Sharma said, ‘In the municipal board meeting held on Saturday, sterilization of dogs has been declared mandatory. Without sterilization certificate registration will not be allowed.’
